Instructions when setting up Logitech Alert Commander
1. As the Logitech Alert Commander installation process begins, Norman Security Suite warning window is going to tell you that the Logitech Installer is trying to connect to the Internet.
2. Click on “is a permanent rule” and then “Allow.”
3. As you finish the installation procedures for the Logitech Alert Commander, Norman Security Suite is going to warn you of the following:
To allow Logitech Alert Commander to have server privileges:
To allow Logitech Updater to have a connection to the Internet in order to automatically find new updates to Commander Software:
In both instances, click on “is a permanent rule” and then “Allow.”
Troubleshooting
If you find that Norman Security Suite continues to set rules and allowances for the Logitech Alert Commander, or if Commander reports that the firewall or content filter that is interfering with communications with your Logitech Alert security cameras, especially an XMPP or UPnP issue, you can fix this problem following these instructions:
1. Double-click on the Norman Security Suite icon in the system tray. This opens the Norman Security Suite.
2. In the left navigation panel, click on the option Personal Firewall and Expert Tools. A list of Expert Tools opens in the window on the right.
3. Click on the option “Rule Wizard.”
4. Select the option “I want to modify or delete an existing rule” and click Next. The “Select application to assign a rule” screen displays.
5. In the list of applications, there will be about 4 rules related to Logitech Alert Commander:

6. Click on Logitech Alert Commander so that it is highlighted and then click Next.
7. Click the option ”Open advanced edit view” and click Finish.
8. In the Description field, enter “Logitech Alert Commander.”
9. Click on the Browse button and go to C:Program FilesLogitechLogitech AlertLogitech Alert Commander.exe.
10. Click Open button.
11. In the Server Privileges section, for the “Grant server privileges?”, change the setting to “Allow.”
12. Click OK.
Note: You may need to make the same Advanced setting for all four Logitech Alert Commander rules. If so, make sure you enter a different “Description” name for each rule.
