During the installation and Logitech Update process for Logitech Alert Commander, Kaspersky will consider the Logitech Alert Commander as a “Potentially Dangerous Program” and launch a warning that prompts you to Allow or Block the program. Always select “Yes: Allow program execution”.
Kaspersky should allow full access to all inbound and outbound functions needed to successfully use Logitech Alert Commander: view a camera’s live video and video recordings in Commander; run the Logitech Updater (for software and camera hardware); send motion alerts; and allow camera video viewing on the Internet or mobile phone.
Checking Program Rules
1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.
2. From the main screen, click Settings in the upper-right hand corner.
3. Click on the Firewall link.
4. Click on Settings.
5. On the Filtering Rules, scroll down through the Network Services list of programs and highlight the Logitech Alert Commander program.
Make sure that all rules for Logitech Alert Commander are set to Allow. If not, highlight each rule, click the Edit link and make the appropriate setting for Allow.
Adding a Camera’s IP Address Manually
If you need to manually add a camera’s IP Address for Logitech Alert Commander, follow these instructions:
1. Open Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.
2. From the main screen, click Settings in the upper-right hand corner.
3. Click on the Firewall link.
4. Click on Settings.
5. On the Filtering Rules, scroll down through the Network Services list of programs and highlight the Logitech Alert Commander program.
6. Click on the Add link.
7. The Network Rule screen displays.
8. In the Action section, make sure that “Allow” is selected.
9. In the address section, select “Addresses from group” and click Add.
10. In the IP Address field, enter the IP address for the camera.
11. Click OK until you have closed down to the main screen of Kaspersky.
